Admissions procedure for study programmes of the Faculty of Medicine of University of Ostrava and for study programmes carried out abroad in the academic year 2019/2020

Entrance examination: written test + aptitude assessment (identical with the czech version)

  • Written multi-choice or simple test. Every question will only have one correct answer. The test will be composed of biology and physics in the range of high school curriculum. Each written test will contain thirty questions. Each correct answer will be awarded one point. One point is awarded for each correct answer). The candidate can be granted from 0 to 60 points.
  • Aptitude assessment

The candidates will be ranked by the granted points. The admission committee will determine the minimum score requirements in some fields of study. In case that more candidates will satisfy the requirements of the admission procedure than is the maximum available capacity, the admission committee will decide on the admission of the best placed candidates. In case that more candidates than is the maximum available capacity, will meet the requirements of the admission procedure successfully, the admission committee will decide on the admission of the best rated candidates. In case of request for review of the decision the Dean may take into account the further activities related to the applicant's interest in the study.

„In accordance with the provisions of § 24 part 1 and provisions of § 28 of the law n. 111/1998 Sb. on higher education in the current version, the dean of the faculty is authorized to decide, also during the admission procedure, on the non realization of the study programme/discipline in the specific academic year.“
